Liberare specie nuove nell'ambiente costituisce sempre una fonte di alto rischio per l'ambiente stesso. Gli insetti in particolare, grazie al loro elevatissimo potenziale riproduttivo, sono delle vere e proprie "bombe ad orologeria" biologiche...

Gli insetti stecchi, che sembrano così goffi, delicati ed imbelli, hanno in realtà notevoli risorse per la sopravvivenza: lo testimonia il fatto che numerose specie esotiche risultano acclimatate in alcune località (di solito isole) della Gran Bretagna... alla faccia delle condizioni di U.R. & °C.... ;)
